Mr. Marvin Lloyd Alexander was born on March 9, 1949, to Girtie Austin Alexander and Floyd Alexander in Clarksville, Texas.

A strong man of faith, Marvin accepted Christ at an early age and was a devoted member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church. He also attended Slate Rock Baptist Church throughout his life.

Marvin graduated from Clarksville High School in 1968 and was known as a hard-working man who believed in providing forhis family through honest labor. He worked for Brown & Root Company and Fluor Daniel Construction Company, where his dedication and strong work ethic spoke for themselves. Marvin also proudly served his  country in the United States Army.

Following his military service, he attended welding college and continued building a life centered around hard work, loyalty, and family.

On July 9, 1993, Marvin married the love of his life, Gertha Rose. Although they were married for 33 years, their love story spanned an incredible 52 years together.

Their union was built on commitment, friendship, and unconditional love. Together they raised two children, Chasidy Rose and Lloyd Lamont Rose. Marvin was also the proud father of Deneisha Kelly from a previous marriage.

Marvin was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life—welding, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his buddies. Whether working with his hands, casting a line in the water, or sharing laughter with family and friends, Marvin carried a quiet strength that made people feel welcomed and loved

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings

Left to honor and cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Gertha Alexander; his children, Chasidy Rose, Lloyd Lamont Rose, and Deneisha Kelly; his aunt, Hattie Hicks; 11 beloved grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and life-long friends.

Marvin’s legacy of strength, love, hard work, and devotion to family will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
