Funeral service for Mr. Carl Lawrence Dillard of Annona, TX who went to be with his Lord Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Christus St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, TX will be Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 11:00 am at Citizens Funeral Home Chapel, 500 E. Church Street, Clarksville, TX with Pastor S.S. Carreathers, eulogist. Interment: Thompson Townes Cemetery, Clarksville, TX. Under the direction of Citizens Funeral Home, 500 E. Mr. Carl Lawrence Dillard, 69, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023, and was commended into the arms of his loving savior, Jesus Christ.
He was born August 1, 1954, to loving parents,
Melvin Beal Dillard Sr. and Agaline Coleman Dillard, at a very early age he accepted Christ and was baptized at the Shawnee Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Church Clerk, and Sunday School Superintendent. He remained a faithful member until the Lord called him home.
Carl graduated from Clarksville High School in 1972 and went on to the Elkins Institute where he became an Electronic Technician. He married his high school sweetheart, Linda Edwards in 1974 and to this union three children were born.
He was employed at the Red River Army Depot for 29 years until his kidneys failed and he went on dialysis in 2004. In 2006, his wife gave him a kidney that lasted 16 years. After going back on dialysis in 2021 he encountered lots of health issues that he couldn't overcome. He never gave up and kept on praising the Lord more abundantly.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Melvin Beal Dillard, and Willie James Dillard, sisters, Mae Helen Coulter, and Willie Norris Wooten.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 49 years, Linda Dillard of Annona, TX, daughter, LaNeshia Beaty of Ore City, TX, two sons, Jeremy Dillard and Joshua Dillard of Annona, TX, sister, Doris (Robert) Harris of Texarkana, IX, and one brother, Stacey (Vickey) Dillard of McKin-ney, IX. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Brianna Beaty and LaTavion Beaty of Ore City, TX and Maya Eargle of Mt. Vernon, TX. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
