Obituary

Funeral service for 95 year old Ms. Annie Mae Hill of DeKalb, TX who went to be with her Lord June 10, 2023 in Irving, TX will be Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Pisgah Methodist Church, DeKalb, TX with Rev.  Tyrus Robinson, eulogist   Viewing will be one hour prior to service: from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. 

Annie Mae Hill “Madear” was born October 3, 1927 in Dalby Springs, Texas to the late Oscar Hunter and late Mary Miller Hunter.  She was educated at Garland School where she was a track star.

Annie Mae retired after 29 years from Day and Zimmerman Inc. Lone Star Division.  Annie Mae made a profession of faith in Christ early on in life.  She was a faithful member of Mt. Pisgah CME Church. She was known as the Mother of the Church.  She loved singing in the choir and leading the choir.

She was blessed with a gift of cooking.  She also loved to shop. 

She passed away June 10, 2023 and was preceded in death by her husband, David Hill Jr. and son, Bobby Patterson and daughter, Yvonne Sadler Carter.

She leaves to cherish her memory:

One brother: Jimmy Hunter (Mildred) of Los Angeles, CA and three sons: Lawrence (Eddie Mae) Sadler of New Boston, TX, Ronald (Lola) Hill of Longview, TX, David (Regie) Hill III of DeKalb, TX, one daughter:  Diane Sadler Lofton of Irvin, TX.

In addition she leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
